“Recent events have shocked many people including myself with the two suicides in my local town, almost in the same day. They were only in their 20s. So many friends and family effected. Personally it got me thinking about a lot of things. I wanted to do something to help, somehow.

With our mental health shirt, it doesn’t just only raise awareness that it’s ok not to be ok, and to be brave to speak out. It also raises money for a charity called “Mind”.

They are a charity that offers help and support to people that are effected by mental health and have reliable information to help change your life. Whether it’s if you just need somebody to talk to through a phone call, or to seek help and see a professional.

Personally throughout my life I’ve had many different experiences of mental health. Mostly through my friends. The one thing I’ve learnt about facing something as challenging as your own mental health, is that you can’t do it alone. You can’t bottle it up. You must talk to somebody and open up. Whether it’s opening up to a friend, member of your family, your councillor or anybody you feel you can open up to. Acceptance is the start of the healing process.

If you’d like to tell us about a mental health story you or a loved one has experienced that you’d feel comfortable to share with us, please feel free to contact us.

I hope you like the T-Shirt.

Remember, its good to talk & it’s ok not to be ok.”
